This woman in Hampshire is making it all up, of course. Everybody knows such things do not occur in real life. The woman just does not know how her computer and her phone work, but she does not want to admit it so she makes up a story.

It keeps statistics. As a rule, British police does not investigate anything computer-related because it does not have the expertise and equipment to do so and it would be much too expensive. The knowledge of most police officers in this area is basic and decades behind.
