Autistic children in England deserve your support

Did you know that autism.org.uk also provides training and education?

I got so angry because of all the abuse I was subjected to in Portsmouth for so many years that I rebelliously made donations to all sorts of charities in 2022. My feeling was “if this is going to be my last year on the planet, then I want to make it count and still contribute as much as I can”.

I also paid for one of these training modules at autism.org.uk. Because I would like to be more supportive for autistic people. I’ve often been a burden for autistic people in the past because I had no idea of what autism is and didn’t know that the people in question were autistic.

I suspect that I actually (often) enjoy being around autistic people. I would like to return the experience. Neurotypical people should strive not to be a burden for others just because neurotypicals are in the majority and thus get to impose their views and ways on others.

Finally, if a highly educated and capable woman from abroad can be rendered powerless by a community – become literally “disabled” within that community – what does that mean for people who are usually considered “vulnerable”?
