Dutch banga rankings (incel culture, Facebook, misogyny)

The Dutch city of Utrecht is being plagued by what I see as typical incel thinking, but I shouldn’t forget that this is also how Facebook once began.

For anyone interested, there’s a film about how Facebook got started. “The social network”

Facemash later became one of the world’s most unethical companies. Facebook for example paid children to give Facebook access to their data. (I’ve just republished a few older posts on the topic of Facebook, now Meta, the oldest dating back to 2014. Insta, WhatsApp and Facebook, that’s all part of the same company. I lost interest in the topic when I to my dismay noticed that most people genuinely couldn’t care less about the sordid activities that Facebook, now Meta, gets up to.)

Banga rankings. (bangalijsten) Rankings of female students, dividing them into Stacys and Beckys, that’s typical incel thinking, isn’t it?

Banga = urban slang for “slut”

Dutch police is asking women to contact them if they find that they’ve been included in such “banga” rankings. They’re asking women not to try to have any material removed as this material can serve as evidence.

On the matter of Facebook, if you happen to use telehealth services, you may want to read this article, although it does not only relate to Facebook:

There also recently was… a police department in England, off the top of my head… that was sending information about site visitors crime victims to, I think, Facebook. They’d had a vacancy for which they had wanted to track interest and then they forgot to remove the trackers from the site, or whatever.
