Someone who wrote to me as Steven Hoops from a live (Microsoft) address, claiming that he was using a pseudonym to protect himself, once explained to me, completely unasked, how one does this, before I knew that it was happening, and this was in response to an email I had sent to a very specific person who went around accusing me of all sorts of things but who was actually doing all those things himself, together with his brother. This was in early 2009 (possibly late 2008).
