Last night, I dreamed that some man was after me, trying to do what he could to keep and control me. I was upstairs in a house and when I came downstairs, I discovered that he had installed shutters in all the doorways and each time I went anywhere, these shutters came down, trapping me.
They were flimsy. I broke through them easily.
(of course, this was my brain identifying the source of the sound that the thing that fell made and deciding that it was nothing to worry about)
He hacked my life to pieces, spread rumors about me, and picked my locks and what not. There were also lots of pranks that only sometimes were funny. Granted, he has an excuse. There is some form of neurodiversity at work and that is not his fault at all. He probably was otherized pretty badly in the past and it left him with a lot of frustration.
If you then next find yourself in surroundings where random people around you launch a witch hunt and civic offices staff behave aggressively and do unhinged things like climb onto your balcony without explanation or apology – which is totally NUTS – and the main thing you get to hear from these people over and over is “u ben gewoon aggelijk of misschien dement, mevrouw” and they expect you to plan your funeral and give up on life, it’s crystal-clear that this isn’t where you need or want to be either. I think that my dream was caused by the fact that something fell off the wall while I was asleep. It probably sounded like a shutter coming down.
