The city of Amsterdam is currently behind on paying its bills. They transitioned to a new payment system and had anticipated delays. However, there were more technical hiccups than expected and it’s currently 200 million euros in arrears as a result.
If Amsterdam were a human being, the often oh so povertyist “vroegsignalering” process would be activated.
However, just like similar hiccups can happen to human beings, for example some of the freelancers whose invoices are currently not getting paid by the city of Amsterdam, the city sees this as only a temporary glitch, as something that it will be able to overcome soon, dear Dutch government.
